While they refused him he descended on them with a matchete
“The women were fishing when the man wearing mask and dressed like Fulani herdsman emerged from the nearby bush and attacked them trying to rape them. “But they resisted which infuriated him as he brought out a sharp cutlass to cut the neck of one of the women. She died instantly. The assailant also descended on the two others but was unable to kill them. He however inflicted injuries on them,” an indigene of the community said. The eyewitness added that the situation of things could have been worse if not for the timely intervention of the police as there was tension in the air, due to the murder carried out by the suspected Fulani herdsman. He said ran for their dear lives, because they never knew who could be attacked next. The Sun newspaper learnt that the headless body of the woman was removed by the police, while the injured ones were taken to hospital for treatment.
