Official: Arsenal complete signing of Lucas Perez, Mustafi



Arsenal have officially announced the arrival of Spanish forward Lucas Perez from Spanish La Liga side Deportivo La Coruna and German defender Shkodran Mustafi  

The 27-year-old scored 19 goals in all competitions, including 17 in the league during the 2015/2016 season with the Spanish outfit. 

This included a spell when he scored seven goals in seven successive games, matching the record of former Brazilian striker Bebeto. He also scored in the opening game of this La Liga campaign, against Eibar.

The 27 year old began his career in Spain with Atletico Madrid C and then Rayo Vallecano. The striker has had spells with Karpaty Lviv in Ukraine and PAOK in Greece followed before returning hime to sign for Deportivo La Coruna in 2014.

Arsène Wenger said: “He’s not only a goalscorer, he’s a guy who combines well with partners, who can give a final ball and makes good runs. He’s got a good eye for goal and had an outstanding season last year.”

A statement by Arsenal reads: “We’re delighted to welcome Lucas to the club and please stay close to Arsenal.com for confirmation of his squad number. The deal is subject to the completion of regulatory processes.” According to reports, £16.9m was shelled out to get left footed Perez. 



Mustafi joins the Gunners from Valencia who he has been with for the past two seasons.

Shkodran, who is currently on international duty with Germany, becomes Arsenal’s sixth signing of the summer after Lucas Perez, Granit Xhaka, and the young trio of Rob Holding, Takuma Asano and Kelechi Nwakali. 

The German began his senior career by coming through the academy at Everton before spending two years with Sampdoria in Serie A.
